Luulay’im Goodim Likinskw is my Nisga’a name, meaning “kind-hearted grizzly bear.” I am from the Nisga’a Nation, belonging to the Gisḵ’ansnaat (Grizzly Bear Clan) of House of Sg̱at’iin. My journey into copper art began with a deeply meaningful task: to create Potlatch Copper Shields for giveaway at my wedding. This ignited a passion in me to carry forward the learnings of the craft.
Through The House of Copper, I create copper pendants and jewelry, each handcrafted with care and intention. For me, copper art is a way to honor my Nisga’a heritage while inviting others to connect with it in a meaningful way. When I’m not working on my copper creations, I’m a filmmaker and storyteller, always looking for ways to celebrate Indigenous identity and preserve our stories. Whether through metal work or film, my goal is to uplift our traditions and pass them on to future generations.
The House of Copper is more than a brand; it’s a reflection of who I am as a Nisga’a artist, storyteller, and grizzly bear with a kind heart.
