Davidson, Walter

Heritage:

Walter Davidson was born in Masset, British Columbia, the largest town on Haida Gwaii (formerly the Queen Charlotte Islands). Through his mother’s lineage he is a descendant of the Eagle Clan, taking the Frog as his secondary crest figure, a right also inherited from his mother. He is the nephew of renowned Haida artists Reg and Robert Davidson and the famed Edenshaw family.

Walter is celebrated for masterful silver and gold jewellery that blends cultural heritage with contemporary design. Since beginning his career in 1999, Walter has honed a unique engraving style—carving deep, precise lines that ensure each piece is durable, detailed, and timeless. His work reflects a clear understanding of design, form, and storytelling, from intricate eye details to balanced, proportionate compositions.

Walter’s signature feather designs, developed in 2016–2018, have become iconic, combining elegance, craftsmanship, and cultural resonance. Each creation is carefully finished to highlight depth, clarity, and lasting beauty, making it both a wearable work of art and a meaningful collector’s piece.

With over two decades of experience and a lifelong dedication to his craft, Walter Davidson offers jewellery that is authentic, collectible, and built to last—pieces that speak to heritage, artistry, and personal connection for collectors worldwide.
