Baker, Marvin


Marvin was born in North Vancouver, British Columbia in 1951. He is a member of the Coast Salish Nation, a cultural group that is represented in the south western region of British Columbia.

Under the instruction of artist Howard Williams, Marvin began carving at the age of 15. He prefers the mediums of wood, burls, ivory and bone. Sculptures and totems make up the majority of Marvin’s work.
