Ken Loo

Ken Loo was born in 1950, in Standoff, Alberta. Ken is from the Kainai Nation (also known as the Blood Tribe) a first nation in Southern Alberta, along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains.

Ken began his career as an artist in the 1970’s, working with Kwakwaka’wakw master carver, Beau Dick. It was after this period that Ken began to work in gold and silver. Ken continues to perfect his craft with the guidance of yet another Kwakwaka’wakw master carver, Russell Smith. Ken also works with Haisla artists Derek and Barry Wilson.

Ken is best known for his feather designs, representing peace, friendship, communication, healing and hospitality.
