Ekid Teevee was born in Cape Dorset, Baffin Island in 1984. He began carving at the age of 14 and has been creating beautiful sculptures ever since. His mother, Ningiukulu Teevee, is a prolific print artist who fuelled his creativity. Established carver Napatchi Ashoona helped Ekid hone his carving skills.
Ekid enjoys creating a wide range of subject matter in stone and whale bone including animals (bears, seals), religious images, traditional (drum dancers) and unusual items, such as containers.
The carvings of Ekid Teevee have been exhibited in Toronto, Quebec and Vancouver.
